Internal Medicine Residency

The Trios Internal Medicine Residency Program is dedicated to helping young physicians become independent in the practice of medicine.

The 36-month osteopathic post-graduate program—accredited by the American Osteopathic Association—provides one resident per year with inpatient and outpatient experiences in addition to excellent instruction to create a quality learning environment. One-on-one training is provided by preceptors who are members of the community, and who have DO and MD degrees.

Inpatient experience will be provided at Trios Hospital, a 111-bed hospital that admits a wide variety of pathologies each year. The resident will be trained in the seven core competencies as they pertain to caring for patients in the inpatient setting, and will also have a variety of opportunities to learn about practicing medicine in the ambulatory care setting. In addition, the resident will be provided with learning opportunities surrounding electronic health record, practice management, medical ethics, and health care policy.

Dr. Al-Hawamdeh is the Internal Medicine Residency Program Director. Dr. Al is devoted to the service of Graduate Medical Education and to the development of outstanding physicians trained in Internal Medicine.
