The original Trios Hospital opened its doors as Kennewick General Hospital in 1952 to provide inpatient services to the growing post-war community. As the Tri-Cities continued to grow and change, Trios served from its flagship facility, helping families bring new lives into the community while caring for its older citizens with gentle care and dignity. Sixty years later, the time had come for a new state-of-the-art hospital equipped with the latest technology to serve the evolving needs of a larger and more geographically dispersed patient population.
In June 2012, Trios Health broke ground on a new 74-bed hospital at Southridge in Kennewick. The new facility is expected to open in spring 2014 to better meet the growing healthcare needs of the Tri-Cities community. It will also serve as the new anchor of the extensive healthcare system Trios Health has worked diligently to become.
