Trios Paws for Patients Program
Inpatients and visitors at both Trios hospitals routinely enjoy special impromptu visits from highly trained pet therapy dogs as part of the Trios Health Paws for Patients program.*
Pet visitation has been shown to:
- Give comfort
- Improve emotional and psychological well-being
- Lower pain levels
- Relieve stress and anxiety
- Decrease recovery time
- Increase alertness
- Relieve depression and agitation
- Reduce blood pressure.
Our pet therapy program at Trios Health is one of the many ways we strive to care for the total health of our patients—mind, body, and spirit. We truly believe it all works together, in health and in healing.
