WebView Portal Terms of Use

New Users

Trios Medical Group offers patients access to our WebView Patient Portal to allow them the option to securely view parts of their medical records. This portal also provides secure messaging to allow for communication with our staff. It is important to understand that while secure messaging can be a valuable communications tool, it should not be used for emergency communication. It is also critical to be aware that the results contained within the WebView Patient Portal may still be pending review by your provider. We recommend that you take the opportunity to review all test results with your provider.

I. Terms of Use—General Policies and Procedures

WebView offers the following functions:

  • View historical and currently scheduled upcoming appointments.
  • View selected health information (allergies, vitals, medications, current problems, past medical history, after visit summary, results from labs and other testing you have had performed). These are available for you to review and check for accuracy as well as print for other physicians or to keep for your records. *Note: Certain documents will not be available for viewing via WebView.
  • Secure messaging to/from your provider's practice. Encrypted, but similar to standard email.

Do not use WebView to communicate (i) an emergency, (ii) an urgent issue or (iii) sensitive information (e.g., HIV, mental health, work excuses, etc). Communication via WebView may be included in your permanent medical record.

Response Time
Reasonable efforts will be made to respond to secure messaging inquiries within three business days after receipt. Response time may be longer if WebView service is interrupted for maintenance, upgrades, or emergency repairs related to events beyond our control. In this respect, you agree not to hold Trios Health, its physician practices, physicians, providers or any staff in any way liable or responsible to you for such modification, suspension, or disruption of WebView service.

WebView secure messages are checked during our hours of operation, which are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. You are encouraged to use WebView secure messaging at any time; however, messages submitted after hours will not be received until we return the next business day.

Practice
Due to legally binding privacy rules covering patients between the age of 12 and 18, WebView access will only be provided for patients younger than 12 and older than 17. Access already granted prior to a patient's 12th birthday will be disabled at that point. Record requests will still be accepted and processed on paper for these patients. Read our HIPAA handout for information on how protected health information is handled in our care centers.

Changes to these Policies and Procedures
Policies and Procedures and Terms of Use may be modified at any time.

II. Terms of Use—WebView Guidelines and Security

Availability of the WebView
Access to WebView is an optional service, and may be suspended or terminated at any time and for any reason.

How WebView Works
WebView is a web-based patient portal that uses encryption and other security measures designed to keep unauthorized persons from reading information or attachments. This secured access is designed to ensure only authorized users can access the provided information and restricts access to be read only by someone who knows the right username and password to log in to the WebView site.

Upon successful login, you will then be able to see any new or old secure messages, or view other parts of your electronic record. Because the connection channel between your computer and the website uses "secure sockets layer" (SSL) technology, you can read or view information on your computer, but it is still encrypted in transmission between the website and your computer.

How to Participate in Our WebView

  • Request access from Trios Medical Group; to gain access, you must be at least 18 years old or show proof of eligibility to access a child's account, for those 11 years old and younger.
  • Review these WebView Terms of Use.

Protecting Your Private Health Information and Risks
This method of communication and viewing information through the WebView is designed to prevent unauthorized parties from being able to access while they are in transmission by using 1024 bit encryption. Other security measures protect information maintained within the WebView site. The website for WebView has a trusted site certificate, which is viewable from your browser's task bar (learn more about trusted sites by going to windows.microsoft.com and searching "When to trust a website"). We need you to make sure that we have your correct email address and are informed if it ever changes. Please guard your login credentials and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your login information or if you believe that your login is no longer confidential. Even with these security measures, we cannot guarantee the confidentiality, security, or integrity of WebView information. To the fullest extent allowed by law, you agree to not hold Trios Health, its physician practices, its physicians, providers, or any of its staff liable for network infractions beyond its control.
