Take back your

Cardiac Rehab

Rebuilding Your Heart Health

Your heart requires care and conditioning to perform at its best. Like other muscles, if it doesn't get what it needs, your heart can become weak and dysfunctional, causing new problems or worsening existing ones. So what do you do if you are not well enough to get the exercise your heart needs?

Trios Therapy Services helps improve cardiovascular health through medically supervised cardiac rehabilitation. Cardiac rehabilitation is a specialized, referral-based physical therapy service designed for people with heart conditions. It can be used either as a preventive measure or following a cardiac event or surgery.

Individualized Therapy Program

Your therapy team takes the time to get to know you and your unique health situation. We then design a productive therapy experience and an effective total care program just for you. Your individualized program helps you improve your cardiovascular health in a safe, clinical environment while under the careful monitoring and instruction of exercise specialists and advanced nurse educators.

Who Needs Cardiac Rehabilitation?

The Trios Cardiac Rehabilitation program is designed to help anyone who needs to regain heart strength, including but not limited to those who:

  • Have cardiomyopathy
  • Suffered a heart attack
  • Have heart failure
  • Recently had cardiac surgery
  • Are waiting for a heart transplant.

Trios Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Offerings

Trios Cardiac Rehabilitation is an outpatient program designed to help lower the risk of future heart problems, as a preventive measure or following a cardiac health event.

Our program includes exercise and education components tailored to your:

  • Individual medical history
  • Current health status
  • Symptoms
  • Physical capability.

The program typically takes place over a period of 12 weeks, with up to three one-hour sessions per week. However, since your program is designed specifically for your needs, this schedule may be modified.

Your cardiac rehabilitation program includes:

Supervised Exercise

You exercise in a controlled environment with close monitoring of physical exertion, symptoms, blood pressure, and other heart activity.

The purpose of these sessions is to help you:

  • Build aerobic capacity
  • Get stronger
  • Learn stretching and strengthening exercises
  • Learn how to self-monitor for heart rate and activity level.

Your progress is tracked over time as you build strength, gain confidence in your cardiovascular capability, and learn how to adjust your exertion level to maintain safety while achieving optimal exercise.

You also benefit from the supportive and empowering nature of going through the program with others facing similar challenges—encouraging each other and sharing in successes.

Education and Resources

You receive individualized counseling from an experienced nurse educator, who provides the information and tools necessary to make important heart-healthy lifestyle changes, including:

  • Smoking cessation
  • Healthy eating
  • Managing stress
  • Properly taking medications.

A Specially Trained Team

You will be supported by your dedicated, specially trained team throughout the program.

Our team includes:

  • Nurses with decades of experience in critical care (emergency room, intensive care, etc.)
  • Certified personal trainer and exercise specialist
  • All staff members are Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified (special training in treating adult victims of cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies).

Your Well-being Is Our Top Priority

Nurses with critical care experience are present during all cardiac rehab sessions. They are specially trained to provide immediate life-saving assistance in the rare event that it becomes necessary.

The goal of the Trios Cardiac Rehabilitation program is to help you regain a basic level of cardiac strength and give you the motivation, confidence, and tools you need to live a heart-healthy lifestyle.
