Trios Health Welcomes Last Baby at Original Hospital Campus
March 30, 2022

Trios Health is pleased to announce the birth of the last baby at its original hospital campus, which opened Aug. 1, 1952, and closed on March 29, 2022.
Weighing 6 pounds and 13 ounces and measuring 19 inches, Baby Fabricio was born to Zaida and Fabricio, Monday, March 28, at 6:42 p.m.
Baby Fabricio’s birth was the last at the Trios Family Birth Center, ending the nearly 70-year history at the original Kennewick General Hospital.
“It is bittersweet to welcome the last baby at our Trios Family Birth Center on our Auburn campus,” said Stephanie Roderick, Trios Birth Center Director. “Thousands of babies were welcomed on that campus in the last 70 years. It is our goal – and privilege – to help make the experience of welcoming a new baby a positive and memorable one for families. We are looking forward to continuing this at our new location.”
Baby Fabricio and his family were gifted a basket with several baby items, sparkling cider, and two commemorative glasses for the new Trios Birth Center for welcoming the last baby at the original Kennewick General Hospital campus. A similar gift will also be given to the family of the first baby born at the new Trios Birth Center.
The Trios Birth Center is now located at 3810 Plaza Way in Kennewick. Patients in labor and their care partners should check in at the Emergency Room entrance when arriving and will be guided to the new birth center. To learn more, visit TriosHealth.org.
