Trios receives large toy donation from local family, organizations
December 23, 2019
Seven years ago, Jazz Little, now 12, decided he wanted to give back in a big way. Diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease, Jazz spent several holidays in the hospital. He wanted other children who had to spend Christmas in a hospital to know that they weren’t forgotten.
This morning, Jazz, his mom Jen, and his younger brother Jaxon (11), delivered several toys, stuffed animals, and games to Trios Southridge Hospital to give to children here. They were also able to personally give a young girl two stuffed animals while they were here.
“We look forward to this annual giving back because it feels so great to bring joy to families who are going through a tough time,” Jen said. “The boys (Jazz & Jaxon) have said they would even give up their Christmas to be able to do this!”
The Littles were accompanied by Adam Lamberd from 94.9 The Wolf, Numerica Credit Union employees, and two Kennewick Police Department officers. Adam and Jen host Adam & Jen In The Morning on 94.9 The Wolf.
Each year, the radio station supports the Little family in gathering donations by hosting the Christmas Tree of Cash & Prizes and collects new, unwrapped toys from the community for the Littles to donate to local hospitals. In exchange, families who donate can take a prize envelope from the tree. The Tree is sponsored by the radio station, Kennewick Police Department Foundation, Gregory Drilling, and Numerica Credit Union. The KPD Foundation donated $1,000 to fund cash and other prizes for the tree this year. More than $400 of it was donated straight back, Jen said.
