Trios Health Opening Trios Hyperbaric & Wound Care Clinic
March 08, 2022
Trios Health is pleased to announce the opening of the new Trios Hyperbaric and Wound Care Clinic.
The Trios Hyperbaric and Wound Care Clinic will treat patients for a variety of conditions, including diabetic wounds of the lower extremities, pressure ulcers, soft tissue radiation injuries, necrotizing infections, compromised skin grafts and flaps, burns, osteomyelitis, lymphedema, malignant wounds, venous leg ulcers, brown recluse spider bites, and more.
“We are excited to be bringing these services to our community and open this center,” said Kristy Leitze, Director of Wound Care. “Patients in our community are traveling out of town for both wound care and hyperbaric treatment options because of the service gap, providing care close to home is always our goal. We know the demands of the community are not currently met by what is available and are excited to be able to fill in those gaps here at Trios Health.”
The Trios Hyperbaric and Wound Care Clinic is on the third floor of the Trios Care Center at Southridge and will be able to see up to 30 patients per day. It includes two hyperbaric oxygen tanks, negative pressure therapy, and treatment rooms. The clinic space was recently renovated, and oxygen tanks were installed below ground for the hyperbaric oxygen therapy tanks.
“Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a new treatment for Trios Health, this specific type of treatment helps wound healing by bring oxygen rich blood to compromised tissues to aid in the healing process,” Leitze said.
Dr. Porntip Kiatsimkul, an infectious disease physician with Trios Health, is the medical director of the new clinic and will oversee a panel of physicians who will be providing treatment for patients at the new clinic.
All current wound care services at Trios Southridge Hospital will be transferred to the Trios Hyperbaric and Wound Care Clinic. Patients will need a referral from their primary care provider or specialist for wound care to be seen at the clinic. Appointments can be made by calling 509.221.6300.
An open house for the new clinic will be held on March 16 at noon. The open house is open to the public and media, and attendees are required to wear face masks and be screened for COVID-19 symptoms upon entry.
