March 31, 2022
Trios Health is pleased to announce the birth of the first baby at its new birth center on the Trios Southridge Hospital campus, which opened at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29.
Weighing 8 pounds and 5 ounces and measuring 20 inches, Baby Logan was born to Kayla and Rob, Tuesday, March 29, at 6:15 p.m. Logan was delivered by Trios Health OB/GYN Dr. Adam Smith.
The new Trios Birth Center opened for deliveries at 7 a.m. on March 29. The new unit was constructed on top of the existing Trios Southridge Hospital and includes two dedicated rooms for Caesarean Section deliveries, six Labor and Delivery (LDR) rooms, 11 postpartum rooms, and a 10-bed Critical Care Nursery for babies born after 32 weeks gestation.
“We are grateful for our new birth center and excited to have welcomed our first baby with Baby Logan,” said Stephanie Roderick, Trios Birth Center Director. “As we make this transition, we want to assure our patients that they will find the same great care they have come to trust and expect. We are honored to warmly welcome babies and families and create positive, memorable experiences.”
Baby Logan and his family were gifted a basket with several bay items, sparkling cider, and two commemorative glasses for the Trios Birth Center for welcoming the first baby at the new Trios Birth Center. A similar gift was also given to the family of the last baby born at the former Trios Family Birth Center on the Auburn campus.
The new Trios Birth Center was made possible by a nearly $22 million investment from LifePoint Health. The Trios Birth Center is located at 3810 Plaza Way in Kennewick. Patients in labor and their care partners should check in at the Emergency Room entrance when arriving and will be escorted to the new birth center by a nurse. To learn more, visit TriosHealth.org.
