April 15, 2026
Lourdes Health and Trios Health are pleased to announce that Steve Bews has joined the organizations as Market Director of Emergency Services, supporting the continued advancement of emergency and trauma care across both hospitals. Bews stepped into the role last month and has already begun making a positive impact across the market.
Steve joins Lourdes Health and Trios Health from Astria Toppenish Hospital, where he most recently served as Director of Nursing for the Behavioral Health Unit and Education Coordinator. In this role, he led clinical operations, strengthened staff competency programs, and helped guide the unit through successful 2025 surveys with the Washington State Department of Health and The Joint Commission with no clinical findings.
Previously, Steve served as Emergency Department Nursing Manager, where he improved key quality metrics such as EKG turnaround times, stroke response metrics, and patient throughput. He also led efforts to restore the hospital’s Level IV Trauma designation.
Steve began his career providing bedside care as an Emergency Department and Float Pool nurse at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University and is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Nursing in Leadership.
“Steve brings a strong track record of clinical leadership and a deep commitment to quality and patient-centered care. His experience across emergency and behavioral health settings will help strengthen our teams and support continued improvements in access, efficiency, and outcomes for the communities we serve,” said Kena Chase, Market Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
