Trios Welcomes Nine Resident Physicians
September 11, 2018
Trios Health has welcomed nine new medical residents—four in family medicine and five in internal medicine—to its programs. The organization launched the Tri-Cities area’s first medical residency programs in 2013, graduating its first class of residents in 2016 upon each physician’s completion of a three-year program.
The four new family medicine residents are: Dr. Wyatt Boles, Dr. Danielle Ello Cruto, Dr. Jessica Luo, and Dr. Lauren Tsai. The five new internal medicine residents are: Dr. Andrea Chang, Dr. Angeli Duran, Dr. Nate Eisenhut, Dr. William Graven, and Dr. Rachael Steiner. (Brief profiles for each follow this news release.)
The three-year post-graduate residency programs in family and internal medicine are approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), the accrediting agency for all osteopathic medical schools and primary certifying body for osteopathic physicians. The Internal Medicine program is also accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the accrediting agency for all allopathic sponsoring institutions, residency, and fellowship programs.
Designed to provide recent medical school graduates with hands-on inpatient and outpatient experience as well as relevant continuing instruction, the programs include hospital and clinic rotations in addition to one-on-one training by local preceptors with Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Doctor of Medicine degrees.
Family medicine residents take patient appointments in the Trios Residency Clinic – Family Medicine, located at 216 W. 10th Ave., Suite 204 in Kennewick. Internal medicine residents see patients in the Trios Residency Clinic – Internal Medicine, adjacent from the family medicine clinic in Suite 202.
The residency programs are overseen by Dr. Heather Phipps, Director of Medical Education for Trios Health. The family medicine residency program is directed by board certified Trios provider Sheila Dunlop, D.O. The internal medicine residency program is directed by board certified nephrologist Vamsi Kanneganti, M.D
